Technology is often perceived as ~~invisible~~, as something slightly surreal that connects everyone even when miles away. It may be seen as what takes us closer to the metaphysical, the mystic or the abnormal.

We thought of a way to show a paradoxical opposite side of technology. Parasite is the first website which you can access with your GPS location, but where you ~~can not see~~ others’ locations unless they are in your same physical area.

You can leave your trace with the automatically generated cell in the space and see to which parasite this will belong to, but discover only your neighbours’ cells and explore other parasites with ~~limited visibility~~.

This website is an academic project designed in Bovisa’s parasite - Italy, Milan - during the course of Creative Coding 2022/23 at Politecnico of Milan.

Welcome to the Parasite microverse, a place where you will be able to see cells and parasites’ colonies that naked eyes can’t see.
